There is a reality show on National Geographic called Snake Salvation, which follows Pentecostal preachers who believe God has instructed them to "take up serpents." Yesterday, one of those preachers, Jamie Coots of Kentucky, was bitten by a snake and died.
Per Middlesboro Police Chief Jeff Sharpe, Coots was bitten by one of his animals at his church Full Gospel Tabernacle in Jesus Name, which may have gotten its name from a Christian MadLibs. Sharpe says that Coots left the church before medics could arrive, but they followed him to his home. There, Coots refused treatment and died.
He is now in heaven, where he can frolic across rolling hills playing with all of the snakes in God's kingdom without having to own a license.
