Construction
of a tunnel underneath downtown Seattle was halted this week. As a
giant tunnel-drilling machine named Bertha was blocked by a mysterious
unknown object only 1000 ft into the project. Now, experts are
scrambling to figure out just what on earth is blocking Bertha. Is it a
man made object from a 200 year old landfill or a boulder left behind by
a glacier thousands of years ago?
